Centre Plans 5,000 Additional Seats for NEET PG 2026

The Union government has announced plans to add 5,000 new postgraduate medical seats to the existing 86,360 capacity for the NEET PG 2026 academic session.

This expansion is intended to address the growing demand for specialized medical training across India and reduce the competitive pressure on aspiring doctors.

The Ministry of Health is currently finalizing the infrastructure requirements for these additional seats, with implementation expected to begin before the next round of counseling.
