AIADMK and BJP Slam Tamil Nadu Government Over Electricity Purchase Rates

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticised the Tamil Nadu government for allegedly purchasing electricity from private players at a record high rate of ₹37 per unit.

Palaniswami compared the rate with Andhra Pradesh's reported power purchase agreement at ₹16-20 per unit and called for Tamil Nadu's agreement to be dropped.

BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran also slammed the government, expressing shock over the high procurement cost and criticizing the lack of advanced planning.
