An Air India pilot operating a Phuket-Delhi flight tested positive for marijuana following a mid-air flight-control incident that caused the aircraft to drop 300 feet.
The captain failed two separate dope tests conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after the flight landed safely in Delhi.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has seized the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder to determine if the pilot's impairment caused the altitude loss.
