The BSE Sensex rallied 1,533.72 points, or 2.11 per cent, to close at 74,315.61 on Thursday, driven by heavy buying in banking, IT, and Reliance Industries shares.
Reliance Industries surged 4.03 per cent after Jio Platforms set an IPO price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share to raise up to ₹30,213 crore.
Global benchmark Brent crude declined 2.34 per cent to USD 103.6 per barrel, while Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth ₹1,857.44 crore on Wednesday.
