Dhiraj Bommadevara wins historic World Cup Final gold

Top-ranked Indian recurve archer Dhiraj Bommadevara won gold at the World Cup Final on Sunday, edging Japan's Nakanishi Junya in a shoot-off.

The 25-year-old overcame Nakanishi 6-5 in a five-setter before prevailing 10-9 in the shoot-off to become the first Indian male recurve archer to claim the title.

Dhiraj ended a 16-year wait for an Indian male recurve medal at the event, matching Dola Banerjee's 2007 women's individual gold triumph.
