The government reduced the export duty on petrol to nil while cutting levies on diesel to ₹24 per litre and aviation turbine fuel to ₹19.5 per litre.
This adjustment, effective August 15, follows a fortnightly review process initiated on March 27 to ensure domestic fuel availability by disincentivising exports.
There is no change to excise duty rates for petrol and diesel intended for domestic consumption, according to the latest government notification.
