Delhi University's South Campus remained closed on September 7, 2026, following a multi-storey paying guest accommodation collapse in Satya Niketan that resulted in seven confirmed deaths.
University officials confirmed one deceased student was from Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, while three students from Motilal Nehru College are currently reported as missing in the debris.
College classrooms have been converted into temporary shelters for affected students as student organizations, including AISA and ABVP, demand a high-level inquiry and safety audits of private hostels.
