Balwant Singh Rajoana Asks PM Modi to Decide Mercy Plea or Execute Him

Balwant Singh Rajoana, sentenced to death for the 1995 assassination of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to decide his pending mercy petition.

Rajoana has spent over 31 years in prison, including nearly two decades in solitary confinement on death row at Central Jail, Patiala.

In a five-page letter, he questioned the government's stance that his petition poses a national security threat and demanded an immediate execution if his plea is rejected.
