India’s forex reserves rose by a record $44.903 billion to a new lifetime high of $785.706 billion during the week ended September 4, 2026, according to the Reserve Bank of India.
Foreign currency assets increased by $47.498 billion to $648.168 billion, while the value of gold reserves decreased by $2.594 billion to $113.816 billion during the reporting week.
The reserves rebounded following consecutive declines earlier this year, supported by concessional forex swap initiatives introduced by the RBI in June that yielded over $136 billion in new flows.
