India's soybean production for Kharif 2026 is projected to fall 2.1% to 107.93 lakh tonnes despite a nearly 5% increase in sown area to 117.73 lakh hectares.
The Soybean Processors Association attributed the national drop to severe production slumps in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana caused by prolonged dry spells.
Maharashtra output is expected to drop 33.2% to 34.88 lakh tonnes, while gains in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are projected to offset much of the loss.
