Former India Test captain Ajinkya Rahane announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on Thursday, concluding a 20-year career that included 85 Tests, 90 ODIs, and 20 T20Is.
Rahane scored 5,077 Test runs at an average of 38.46 and famously led India to a historic Border-Gavaskar Trophy series victory in Australia during the 2020-21 season.
The veteran batter, who also played 212 IPL matches and captained Kolkata Knight Riders in 2026, confirmed his decision via an Instagram post, citing that the timing was right to move on.
