Delhi Security Forces Enforce Lockdown to Thwart Anti-CEC Protests

Security forces in Delhi detained over 3,300 people and restricted access to Jantar Mantar on Saturday to block protests called by the Cockroach Janata Party and allied groups.

The demonstrators are demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the rollback of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Authorities deployed over 23,000 security personnel, shut down 45 metro stations, suspended mobile internet in parts of the capital, and cancelled numerous trains.
