India's defending champion teams arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, to compete in the 11-round classical Fide Chess Olympiad starting Wednesday.
The Open team is seeded second behind the USA and features reigning world champion D Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi, Nihal Sarin, and Vidit Gujrathi.
The top-seeded women’s team includes Vaishali R, Divya Deshmukh, Koneru Humpy, Vantika Agrawal, and Savitha Shri Baskar.
