Drag-flicker Deepika Sehrawat scored a tournament-high 21 goals to help India win its first-ever women's hockey gold medal at the Asian Games in 44 years.
Her record-breaking campaign followed a comeback from a Grade 3 hamstring tear suffered in August last year that kept her sidelined for ten months.
Sehrawat also finished as joint-top scorer in the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup earlier in the year, helping India secure the title.
