Automobile retail sales fall 24% in October on high base effect

Total vehicle retail sales in October fell 24% year-on-year to 3,172,466 units due to a high base effect, according to FADA data.

Passenger vehicles dropped 14.23% to 507,768 units and two-wheelers declined 28.35% to 2,321,419 units compared to an exceptional previous October.

Despite the yearly drop, total sales jumped 25.05% sequentially from September, while electric vehicle retails hit an all-time high of about 3.55 lakh units.
