Union Cabinet Approves Raising EPFO Wage Ceiling To ₹25,000

The Union Cabinet approved raising the wage ceiling for mandatory EPFO coverage from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month, effective September 17.

The decision is expected to bring over 51 lakh additional employees under mandatory coverage and expand access to pension and insurance schemes.

The annual government outgo is estimated at about ₹11,339 crore, while employers' contributions will increase by ₹600 per employee.
