India expects to finalize trade agreements with EU and Canada by year-end

The government anticipates signing an FTA with the EU by late 2026, with negotiations for a Canadian trade agreement currently in their fourth round.

Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal confirmed the India-New Zealand FTA is likely to become operational by October 19, pending final confirmation.

Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the U.S. in late September to discuss trade issues, including an interim agreement stalled by forced-labour import disputes.
