JSW Group has put its 50GWh battery cell manufacturing project in Odisha on hold due to constraints in securing LFP technology partnerships.
The delay stems from difficulties in forming joint ventures with Chinese firms, which are currently facing stricter regulatory scrutiny in India.
JSW is now scouting for alternative global partners to localize battery production, aiming to reduce the 15-20% cost disadvantage currently faced by Indian manufacturers.
