Global Leaders Gather in Bishkek for 25th SCO Summit

Leaders from Russia, China, India, and Pakistan are convening in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Monday for the 25th annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit to discuss economic and geopolitical cooperation.

The bloc, which represents 40 percent of the global population and 25 percent of world GDP, includes 10 permanent members and 15 dialogue partners such as Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

President Vladimir Putin and President Xi Jinping are expected to present a united front against the West, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian plans bilateral talks with Putin during the event.
