External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday for misrepresenting facts and acting as a serial practitioner of terrorism.
Sharif had claimed during his address that Islamabad exercised its right to self-defence during a four-day military confrontation in May 2025 and credited US President Donald Trump for a timely intervention.
Rejecting claims of third-party mediation, India asserted that the May 2025 ceasefire was achieved through direct communication, while a diplomat exercised India's Right of Reply to label Pakistan a puppet regime.
