Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated on Monday that trade negotiations between India and the U.S. have reached a point where further major concessions are difficult.
She criticized the U.S. for 'weaponizing' tariffs to address trade imbalances, arguing that such issues should instead be resolved through bilateral negotiations.
Regarding the India-EU FTA, she noted that European discussions have not been conditioned on India's Russian oil imports, unlike potential U.S. legislative actions.
