Census Phase 2 Scheduled to Begin August 17

The second phase of the national census is set to commence on August 17, 2026.

This phase will include the collection of caste data and details regarding the birthplaces of parents.

The exercise follows the initial phase and aims to capture comprehensive demographic information across the country.
