India secured advance concessions from the EU, including a duty-free quota for 2.8 million tonnes of steel exports effective from July 1.
The EU also approved 625 Indian fishery establishments for shrimp exports and greenlit shipbreaking in India, joining the US outside Europe.
Both sides aim to sign the free trade agreement by December 2026, with operationalisation expected by early 2027 pending European Council and Parliament approvals.
