Intel CEO says adoption of Chinese frontier AI models has been very fast

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan stated on Monday that adoption rates for Chinese frontier AI models have been very fast with lower token costs.

Speaking at a DBS lender panel, Tan noted that models such as DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM deliver performances that are good enough for users.

Tan also expressed strong support for open-source frameworks to drive efficiency and predicted quantum computing could become mainstream within three to five years.
