Jharkhand Students Protest Exam Irregularities Demanding CBI Probe

Hundreds of students in Jharkhand are holding an indefinite sit-in in Ranchi since July 29, demanding a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in state recruitment examinations.

The protests intensified after the April civil service exam results, with candidates alleging answer sheet manipulation, leading to the resignation of JPSC chairman L Khiangte on July 22.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has promised justice and confirmed a CID probe is underway, while the BJP and other opposition groups have publicly backed the students' demands.
