Separate Mass Shootings in South Africa Leave 27 People Dead

Two separate mass shootings near South Africa's largest cities killed at least 27 people over the weekend, police reported Sunday.

Seventeen people died Saturday night when eight gunmen using AK-47 rifles and pistols opened fire at a bar in Wedela township near Johannesburg.

Another ten people were killed and eleven wounded in a separate shooting at a store in Lwandle near Cape Town early Sunday morning.
