Thai authorities have launched a series of raids on sex workers in Pattaya ahead of the arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is docking with 5,000 US sailors on board.
The aircraft carrier is arriving after a record-breaking 250-day deployment in the Middle East, marking the largest influx of foreign military personnel to the resort city this year.
Local police stated the crackdown is intended to maintain public order and safety during the sailors' shore leave, which is expected to last for several days.
