OpenAI Grants Unlimited Text Chats to Free ChatGPT Users

OpenAI is removing text-based chat limits for all free users, transitioning them to the new GPT-5.6 Luna model starting next week.

The update introduces a 'Think' button for complex queries, while Plus and Pro users gain access to an upgraded GPT-5.6 Sol model with a new thinking slider.

Internal evaluations show that the new models reduce factual errors by 62% for the Luna version and 68% for the Sol version compared to the previous GPT-5.5-Instant.
