Seven Arrested Following Fatal Assault on Manipuri Musician in Delhi

Seven men and one juvenile have been arrested for the killing of 54-year-old Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram Singh, who died after being assaulted outside his Delhi apartment on September 6, 2026.

The victim, a former member of bands like Phoenix and Eastern Dark, was attacked after objecting to a group of men drinking and shouting outside his residence late Sunday night.

While police state there is currently no evidence of a racial motive, north-eastern community groups have held protests demanding an impartial investigation into the incident.
