Petrol pumps across Madhya Pradesh will stop accepting UPI transactions above ₹2,000 starting October 15 in protest against the newly imposed merchant discount rate.
The decision was taken unanimously by the MP Petrol Pump Association, representing 4,700 statewide dealers who refuse to bear the 0.4% MDR introduced by the Centre.
Association president Ajay Singh stated that the fixed profit margins of petroleum dealers will be severely impacted, forcing them to accept only cash for transactions exceeding ₹2,000.
