Students across South East England received their GCSE results on Thursday, with the overall UK pass rate at 4/C and above remaining stable at 67.3 percent.
The proportion of top grades at 7/A and above rose slightly to 22 percent this year, compared to 21.9 percent in the previous year.
The Department for Education has advised students who missed their target grades to consider alternatives like T Levels, apprenticeships, or resitting English and Maths in November.
