Darwish Rasooli to Lead Afghanistan in 2026 Asian Games

Darwish Rasooli will captain a 15-member Afghanistan cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which are scheduled to take place from September 24 to October 3.

The squad features top performers from the 11th Shpageeza Cricket League, including Mohammad Akram, who scored 339 runs in eight innings, and award-winning all-rounder Ismat Alam.

While regular captain Rashid Khan and key players like Rahmanullah Gurbaz are excluded, the team includes experienced campaigners Najibullah Zadran and Karim Janat to guide the youthful roster.
