The Telangana High Court on July 27, 2026, directed the Chief Secretary to relieve IPS officer A.V. Ranganath from his position as Commissioner of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency.
The order followed contempt cases involving a 40-acre property dispute in Lothkunta, where M/s Shanta Sriram Constructions Private Limited alleged that 200 HYDRAA personnel damaged infrastructure using 50 vehicles.
Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti issued the directive after reviewing an affidavit submitted by Ranganath, which failed to prevent the court from ordering his removal to ensure better institutional accountability.
