Defence Ministry Adds 405 Items to 'Make in India' Indigenisation List

The Ministry of Defence notified its sixth Positive Indigenisation List on August 18, 2026, comprising 405 strategically important items to be manufactured domestically.

The initiative aims to reduce import dependency, with the identified items representing a business potential of approximately ₹3,070 crore for the Indian defence industry.

Following the announcement, shares of defence companies including Paras Defence and Zen Technologies rose by up to 8% in early market trading.
