Humanoid Robot Tiangong Sets 8.86-Second 100m Sprint Record

China’s Tiangong Ultra humanoid robot completed a 100-metre sprint in 8.86 seconds at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing on Tuesday.

This time surpasses the 9.58-second human world record set by Usain Bolt in 2009, though the robot collapsed and caught fire after the finish.

The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center reported that its robots have now broken four human world records, including a 400m time of 38.15 seconds.
