P. Chidambaram Responds to PM Modi's 'Dimagi Naxal' Remark

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram declared he is proud to be a 'dimagi naxal' in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent criticism of ideological supporters of Naxalism.

The Prime Minister's remarks, made on August 15, 2026, during the 80th Independence Day celebrations, warned that individuals with Maoist mindsets have entrenched themselves in government policy-making roles.

Modi stated that over 3,500 security personnel have been killed in Naxal-related conflicts and urged citizens to identify and isolate those who continue to promote violence and anarchy.
