Former Senatobia Police Officer Hunter Foster resigned following the public release of body camera footage on Thursday from the June fatal shooting of 1-year-old Kohen Wiley in a Mississippi Walmart parking lot.
The footage showed officers running after suspected shoplifters, with Foster firing three shots at a vehicle carrying Wiley and his family, wounding the driver and fatally striking the infant.
While the Mississippi attorney general's office concluded Foster's use of force was justified after an inquiry, family attorney Ben Crump and relatives disputed the findings and called for Foster's decertification.
