The City of Liverpool College announced it will scrap its A-level provision for the 2026/27 academic year, impacting an estimated 80 to 90 students.
Principal Elaine Bowker stated the decision was due to falling applicant numbers and poor results, noting the college is currently 250 oversubscribed for health and social care courses.
While students entering their second year of A-levels can complete their studies, the college is working to find alternative placements for those affected by the cancellation.
