The Indian government is nearing a final approval for a ₹70,000-crore deal to acquire six advanced AIP-equipped submarines from Germany's ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.
The project, known as 75(I), is currently awaiting a final review by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to finalize the partnership with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.
This deal aims to modernize the Indian Navy's aging fleet, with the next high-level meeting expected to resolve remaining technical and financial hurdles within the coming weeks.
