Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to transform the drought-prone Rayalaseema region into a global horticultural hub and fruit bowl.
Development works worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore will be undertaken via a public-private partnership, with the state investing ₹40,000 crore and the private sector ₹60,000 crore.
An integrated horticulture hub programme will launch on October 2 at Madanapalle in Annamayya district, alongside the foundation stone for the Indian School of Agriculture.
