Microsoft Merges Consumer and Enterprise Copilot Apps

Microsoft has rebranded its Microsoft 365 app to Microsoft 365 Copilot, merging consumer and enterprise AI assistant features into a single unified interface.

The transition, which began rolling out on January 15, 2025, allows users to access Word, Excel, Outlook, and AI agents within one environment while maintaining data isolation between account types.

Several consumer-specific features, including Group Chat, Podcasts, and Deep Research, are scheduled to be retired starting August 18, 2026.
