Indian Pilot Defeats Hijack Attempt on Dubai-Tel Aviv Flight

Captain Smit Machchhar thwarted an alleged mid-air sabotage attempt by his co-pilot on a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, saving 174 passengers.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured during the cockpit struggle, Captain Machchhar fought back, enabled crew and passengers to overpower the attacker, and secured a safe diversion.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the Indian aviator as a true hero, while the injured pilot recovers in a hospital in Saudi Arabia.
