US President Donald Trump called off plans to livestream the execution of former army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan by firing squad following widespread global criticism.
Hasan, who fatally shot 13 US military personnel and injured 32 others in Texas in 2009, will still be executed by firing squad as scheduled on December 3, 2026.
Trump stated that victims' families can still view the execution in person, while a Pentagon spokesman confirmed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth supported the cancellation decision.
