Dayananda, the 40-year-old head of Hunasamaranahalli Mutt in Bengaluru, was arrested on Monday following a sexual exploitation complaint by a 25-year-old woman.
The victim alleged the accused harassed her for a year and threatened her life, providing audio and video recordings that police are currently verifying.
A court remanded Dayananda to 14 days of judicial custody after police registered the case under BNS sections for deceitful sexual intercourse and criminal intimidation.
