District collectors in nine Kerala districts, including Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, and Wayanad, declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Wednesday due to ongoing heavy rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department issued an Orange Alert for nine districts and a Yellow Alert for five others, warning of heavy to very heavy precipitation across the state.
While schools and coaching centers remain closed, previously scheduled public examinations and interviews will proceed as planned, and residential schools in Wayanad are exempt from the order.
