India's September crude oil imports rise 7% as import bill surges 47%

India's crude oil import bill surged 47 percent year-on-year to $15.4 billion in September amid resurging conflict in West Asia.

Crude oil imports rose 7 percent year-on-year to 21.7 million metric tonnes, according to provisional government data from the PPAC.

India's net oil and gas import bill widened by 39.6 percent to $13.4 billion, while petroleum product exports declined 24.2 percent.
