Surry Central High School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon following an anonymous 911 report alleging a weapon was present on the campus grounds.
Law enforcement officers conducted a room-by-room search of the building, followed by an inspection of student backpacks and lockers, but found no weapons on the premises.
Principal Matthew Richardson lifted the lockdown at 1:15 p.m., allowing students and staff to resume their normal schedules without any changes to the regular dismissal time.
