Lok Sabha Adjourned Amid Protests Over NEET and FCRA Bill

The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on August 12, 2026, following intense Opposition protests despite Home Minister Amit Shah's offer to discuss NEET-related student demonstrations.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that the government is ready to begin a discussion on the NEET issue if Opposition MPs maintain decorum and provide a written request to Speaker Om Birla.
