Cricket Australia has engaged the Raine Group to oversee the privatization of Big Bash League teams, with several IPL franchise owners expressing interest in the acquisition.

The Melbourne Renegades are currently available for 100% acquisition, while future sales for teams like the Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers will be limited to a 49% stake.

IPL owners have raised concerns regarding the lack of guaranteed Australian star player availability and higher taxation rates compared to other leagues like the SA20 or ILT20.
