Tiruchi Corporation Increases Disease Surveillance Ahead of Monsoon

The Tiruchi Corporation has intensified monsoon preparedness by monitoring 150 hospitals and 35 laboratories, following the detection of four dengue cases in the first eight days of August 2026.

Civic officials have identified 28 vulnerable hotspots, including Pattammal Street and East Boulevard Road, based on data collected over the past five years to prevent water-borne and vector-borne outbreaks.

To combat mosquito breeding, the corporation has deployed 350 domestic breeding checkers for door-to-door inspections and 46 fogging machines to clear potential stagnant water sources in residential and commercial areas.
